WrightGrid
Ryan Wright is the founder and CEO of WrightGrid, a Boston based startup on a mission to enhance personal connectivity by deploying accessible, affordable and sustainable power solutions in emerging markets, beginning in Sub-Saharan Africa. WrightGrid deploys their solution, a solar powered cell phone charging station, Wifi hotspot and mobile money cashless ATM in the DRC through partnership with major telecommunications providers, beverage distributors and advertising companies. Through their unique business model, WrightGrid is able to affordably increase access to power, internet and mobile money/banking to base of the pyramid populations to help improve their quality of life. In addition, WrightGrid’s business model also creates significant job creation in the local communities they service. WrightGrid is currently ramping up to deliver 300 stations to their distribution partner in DRC and is in advanced conversations to deploy stations in Uganda later this year.
Prior to WrightGrid, Ryan spent 10-years in manufacturing operations and engineering project management, working at BAE Systems and Skyworks Solutions. Ryan has a bachelor of science in Industrial Engineering from Northeastern University and an MBA from Babson College.
